Job Information

The Department of Architecture in the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts at Florida International University invites applications for a nine-month tenure-earning Assistant Professor of Architectural Technology to commence in August 2019.

The department seeks an effective teacher and scholar who will be active in both the professional and post-professional masters degree programs, pursue funding opportunities for research and creative activities, and engage in the intellectual advancement of the field through peer-reviewed publications and creative work. Primary teaching responsibilities will include teaching courses in Environmental Systems, Integrated Building Systems, Green Building Technologies, as well as interdisciplinary building and sustainability design studios. Applicants with expertise in building technologies, analysis and generative 3D design modelling software tools, digital fabrication and/or advanced processing, and scripting are encouraged to apply. 

Qualifications

Applicants should have a master degree in Architecture. Candidates with PhD and/or Architectural license will be given priority. Teaching experience at a graduate program is also preferred. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply and attach the following:
