This is a full-time twelve month, multi-year, non-tenure earning Instructor appointment (initial appointment of 3 years) and is renewable upon mutual consent. The initial appointment will start July 1, 2019.
The successful candidate will be responsible for further developing and executing a digital publishing content plan in accordance with the department¿s new South Florida Media Network strategy.
Responsibilities include: implementing our newsroom action plan; coordinating a media network that includes the South Florida Media Network newsmagazine, the South Florida News Service and news producing bureaus in New York, Washington D.C. and Wynwood, Miami's bustling arts neighborhood; editorial decision-making on the daily publication of SFMN; coaching, directing, and supervising the work of student reporters in collaboration with faculty; and focusing student journalists on the most important, sensitive, and complex stories.
The position will require the candidate to work collaboratively with faculty, students, the Chair of the department, and the Dean of the College.
