The Applied Research Center is currently seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate to join our team of professionals:
The Post-Doctoral Associate Program is designed to recruit outstanding Ph.D. applicants to assist a line organization in meeting its mission objectives and provide a professional technical work environment for the employee. The Ph.D. must have been conferred within one to five years prior to employment. This assignment is for a one-year period, it is grant funded, and this appointment may be renewed at management’s discretion based on excellent work performance and funding availability.
Primary Job Duties:
- Perform research as directed in the areas of environmental remediation and waste management of radionuclides;
- Safely handle radionuclides and operate analytical equipment to produce quality results as directed;
- Analyze and summarize data, present at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals;
- Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Train and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the laboratory;
- Participate in the development of proposals for additional funding in relevant research areas;
- Assist in the development of technical reports, monthly quarterly reports, and year end reports;
Qualifications for Applicant: Applicant should have a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Material Science, or related discipline and publications in highly respected international journals. Applicants should have experience in researching fate and transport of contaminants in the subsurface, environmental remediation technologies, and/or process design for hazardous or radioactive waste disposal. Experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory and handling low levels of radioactivity is preferred. A willingness to work in a multidisciplinary, team environment is required.
