Florida International University is an exciting place to teach, learn and work. We seek only the most talented faculty who aspire to lead in innovative teaching and accelerate Worlds Ahead research.

In addition to being Miami’s first and only public research university, we are Carnegie-designated as both a research university with high research activity and a community-engaged university. Research at FIU focuses on addressing scientific challenges, as well as the social and economic needs of Florida and the nation. FIU faculty produces research that is linked to local economic development and problem solving. As an urban research university, we are committed to investing now to foster the next generation of scientists and innovation, which will be the key to global competitiveness, new and better jobs, a resilient economy, and the attainment of essential national goals.

As a Minority Serving Institution which values diversity, we are focused on our commitment to our students and their success both at the undergraduate and graduate level.  Our strategic plan elaborates on this commitment along with our commitment to our faculty, staff and community.

We have two major campuses, Modesto A. Madique Campus (MMC) in West Miami-Dade County and Biscayne Bay Campus (BBC) in North Miami Beach. Additionally, we have other sites, which include the Engineering Center (near MMC), the business center in Downtown Brickell, the Miami Beach Urban Studios, the Wolfsonian FIU on South Beach and FIU@I-75 in Miramar. Our plan to create a UniversityCity is already underway with the aim to grow neighboring city Sweetwater into a university downtown hub.

All of our classrooms and facilities provide a space for innovation and cultivation. Everything is available from state-of-the-art labs to large auditoriums with the most current technology available.

FIU is proud to be a member of Conference USA and has over 400 student athletes involved in over 16 different sport teams.

What is the future of FIU? Our rich history reflects ambitious goals in addition to rapid progress and the achievements of those goals.  So by 2020, see where we expect to be.  We invite you to be a part of this exciting journey and join us.
