The Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences (KFSCIS) at Florida International University is seeking adjunct instructors to:  

• Review, create and distribute course syllabus 

• Develop course curriculum 

• Facilitate course instruction and teach assigned course materials in accordance with the learning objectives provided by the School 

• Provide office hours outside of class time  

• Administer final exams 

• Complete grading and other administrative work in a timely manner 

• Coordinate with the School liaison to ensure the course materials are available at the Bookstore. 

Please note that this pool is open for the 2023-2024 academic year and is reviewed based on departmental needs. Screening of applications will occur as positions become available and continue until positions are filled.

Minimum Qualifications

Primary Instructor: 

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field for undergraduate courses. 

• PhD in discipline for graduate courses, or exception with industry qualifications approved by Academic Affairs on a case-by-case basis. 

• Professional experience in the academic field 

Secondary Instructor, Course Assistant and Other Instructional:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a related field.  

Desired Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience in addition to requisite education.

• Has the ability to solve problems and assess results 

• Exhibits a commitment to promoting academic excellence in students’ success’
