Job Information

An opportunity is available for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Adel Nefzi at the Florida International University, Port Saint Lucie, Florida. The projects will involve medicinal chemistry, development of structure activity relationships and assessment of activity in a range of assays.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. with demonstrated experience in synthetic organic/medicinal chemistry with emphasis on peptide chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, analytical chemistry and an ability to work independently. A background in medicinal or biological chemistry and drug discovery with experience of parallel synthesis and purification methods is required. Some experience in molecular modeling and/or protein-inhibitor visualization is a plus. The incumbent must be able to synthesize, purify, crystallize, optically resolve, identify, characterize and analyze new compounds (HRMS, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, HPLC, optical rotation) and search the chemical literature under the supervision of senior staff.
